Veronica Blake


Chief Executive
Officer

As chief executive officer of the Foundation, Veronica uses her knowledge of Placer County’s nonprofit sector to connect the charitable interests of donors with needs in the community. She serves as the primary liaison with the board of directors and all committees, directs all asset development activities and manages the internal operations of the Community Foundation.  Before joining Placer Community Foundation in September 2004, Veronica was Executive Director for Sutter Auburn Faith Foundation, where she worked with donors to support margin of excellence services for the community hospital. Prior to this position she served as Executive Director of Placer County’s SPCA for seven years. In this position Veronica grew the organization’s annual operating budget from $50,000 to $1,000,000, developing a six month operating reserve and sound financial base. Veronica grew up in the local region and has lived in Placer County for the past fifteen years.

Jessica Hubbard


Philanthropic
Services Manager

Jessica manages Placer Community Foundation's charitable programs. She assists in informing donors about charitable projects that need funding, and reports to them on the impact of their grantmaking. She currently manages the Community Foundation’s Arts Initiative which, through the support of The James Irvine Foundation, enhances and strengthens the arts in Placer County with its grantmaking programs and endowment building. Before joining the Community Foundation in 2005, Jessica worked in fund development for the Crocker Art Museum and as the orchestra personnel administrator for the San Francisco Symphony. She earned a master's degree in public administration from San Francisco State University.

Janene Michalk


Philanthropic
Services Associate

Janene provides philanthropic support to the Foundation as the first line of contact for donors and nonprofits. She manages the Foundation’s donor and grantmaking database and files, and processes donations, grants and internal billing. Janene joined Placer Community Foundation in 2007. She has volunteered and served as Treasurer for Sierra Gardens Elementary for the last five years, leading the charge to revamp the school’s library. Prior to this she was a loan officer at a local community bank in her hometown of Sonora. She received her bachelor's degree in communications from California State University, Stanislaus. She has lived in Placer County for the last eight years with her husband, two kids and a dog.

Monica Wilson


Accountant

Monica Wilson manages the finances for Placer Community Foundation. Monica worked in public accounting for over ten years, first at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Sacramento, and eventually working at Wilson, Wilson & Taylor CPAs in Auburn, CA.  An audit manager, one of her specialties is working with not-for-profit entities. Monica joined Placer Community Foundation in 2005 and ensures that the Foundation’s accounting records are accurate. She also prepares for the year-end audit and ensures that donor assets and records are properly maintained. Monica lives in Auburn with her husband, Michael, and their two young children.
