Arts Build Community Reception Gathers Local Arts Advocates

Release Date: 14-Oct-2009

Local arts advocates gathered at the PlacerArts’ Gallery in Auburn on September 24th to celebrate community arts.  While enjoying locally prepared food from Cafe Zorro, wines from Carpe Vino and music performed by members of the Auburn Symphony, guests learned of the variety of arts programming and events taking place in Placer County, and how the Placer Community Foundation is supporting the nonprofit organizations that provide them.

A highlight of the evening was the announcement of a $100,000 matching gift to seed an endowment for the arts.  Janice Forbes, Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Community Foundation, presented a heartfelt and compelling story about this generous legacy gift.

There is no greater time to support the arts than now and the story behind this gift exemplifies the power of giving.  By making a gift through the Community Foundation donors are assured the funds will be well managed and strategically invested in the arts as a lasting legacy.

The Community Foundation is committed to keeping the arts vibrant and accessible and plans to continue and expand upon the work in the arts, through the auspices and intent of our donors.   Take advantage of our latest funded project to market the arts in Placer County by visiting PlacerArts’ online calendar at http://www.placerarts.org
