Larry Welch is a long-time Auburn resident who retired his position as Vice President of Indirect Procurement for Hewlett Packard in 2007.  His extensive volunteer work includes serving on the Executive Committee and Board of PRIDE Industries, as a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council for the UC Davis Graduate School of Management, as Chairman of Sacramento region’s Valley Vision and was a member of the Citizen’s Advisory Committee for the Placer County Open Space Initiative.

“I believe in the work of the Placer Community Foundation — strengthening and improving our community through private philanthropy,” states Mr. Welch.  “I look forward to actively participating in growing their grantmaking efforts because they support many of the causes I personally hold as important to Placer’s quality of life.”

Guy Gibson is a lifelong resident of Roseville.  Upon graduating from U.C. Davis and McGeorge School of Law, Mr. Gibson returned to Roseville to practice law with his father, Howard Gibson, under the name of Gibson & Gibson.  He is a certified specialist in probate, estate planning, and trust law by the State Bar of California.  Mr. Gibson has always been very active in civic and community affairs, serving on the Roseville City Board of Education, and two different city commissions.  In 1998 he served as President of the Roseville Chamber of Commerce, and was past President of the Placer County Bar Association.

“The Community Foundation offers people a variety of options when making a charitable gift and then thoughtfully tailors how that money is distributed back into the community," states Mr. Gibson.  “My work on this board compliments not only my professional work with clients, but my personal interest to give back to a community that’s been home for me and my family.”

“These two gentlemen have worked with us in a volunteer capacity in the past so they have an understanding of our thoughtful grantmaking to nonprofits and our steadfast commitment to our donors,” states Janice Forbes, Board Chairman of the Placer Community Foundation.  “We are so pleased to add such community-minded people to our team.”
