Teen Fund Promotes Driver Safety

The All American Speedway event in Roseville on April 16 is bittersweet for Vincent and Eileen Bellotti. The Stephanie Bellotti Teen Fund named in memory of their daughter who was tragically killed in a car accident in 2002, will be prominently displayed on the hood of Naake Motorsport Team’s car #88 during NASCAR's K&N Pro Series West event.

Established by the Bellotti’s at the Placer Community Foundation, the Stephanie Bellotti Teen Fund provides scholarships for teenagers in Placer County to participate in driving survival and car control clinics.

“This scholarship program is our effort to save young drivers’ lives,” states Vincent Bellotti.  “New drivers can avoid tragedy by learning skills in car control clinics that would take them years to acquire any other way.”

The fund recently awarded nine high school students scholarships to attend this year’s driving clinic on April 19th. The clinic is provided by the National Auto Sports Association (NASA). Their logo will also be shown on Naake’s car #88.

“Naake Motorsports has partnered with the Stephanie Bellotti Teen Fund and NASA to promote their teen driving and car control clinics,” states Michael and Sharon Naake. “It is a really great program that gives young drivers some valuable skills that just may save their lives. We sent our 16 year old daughter to participate in the full day course. She has more confidence on the road and we have a little peace of mind.  Naake Motorsports is happy to promote this program. In this way, we may play a small role in avoiding the unnecessary loss of a young driver.”

“We lost our teenage daughter in a fatal car accident that might have been avoided had she attended a NASA Car Control Clinic,” commented Eileen Bellotti. “Let’s keep our teens alive.”
