Each year, people from all walks of life make generous donations to Placer Community Foundation. We use these funds to issue grants to the nonprofit organizations working to resolve pressing community needs and seize important community opportunities. Together, we’re making life better in Placer County.
Herb and Rhea Trittenbach loved Auburn. Both were dedicated volunteers, Herb as a volunteer fireman and Rhea as a “Pink Lady” for Auburn Faith Hospital. They were committed to helping their neighbors, and supported the local 4-H auction events and raised money for charities hosting bridge fundraisers. They wanted their financial contributions to continue to help Auburn even after their deaths in 1987 and 1993. The Trittenbachs left their $138,000 estate to the Foundation as an unrestricted fund, allowing the Foundation to address ever-changing community needs, providing support for animal welfare, arts and culture, youth programs and health and human services. The Trittenbachs’ commitment to the community began when they moved here during the 1950s, but with their generous financial contribution through the Foundation, their good deeds will continue to serve the region they loved forever.
