PCF Approves 10-Year Strategic Plan to Address Affordable Housing Crisis
ABOUT THE
PLACER COMMUNITY FOUNDATION
For nearly two decades, Placer Community Foundation has inspired philanthropy to respond to critical community needs and build a thriving region where every person prospers.
As a trusted advisor and navigator for individuals, families, businesses, and government partners, we make a meaningful difference throughout this region and beyond. We serve as a critical link between caring donors, committed nonprofits, and local communities to help everyone thrive.

We keep our finger on the pulse of the issues and organizations that make a difference in our region. We deeply understand the challenges at hand and the nonprofits working to solve them.

As a tax-exempt public charity, we carefully steward the charitable resources of our community. We are accredited by the Council on Foundations for meeting its national standards for community foundations and maintain a four-star Charity Navigator rating and Candid Platinum Seal of Transparency.
Our History and Impact
Our legacy began in 1948 as the Auburn Community Foundation—a private foundation founded by the Beecher family. But the story of the Placer Community Foundation started in 2005 when a few visionary residents transformed the Foundation into a public foundation belonging to everyone as a resource for expert support and creative ideas to benefit the whole community.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors and partners, in 2023 we granted millions of dollars to a diverse range of causes, including human services, education, housing, disaster relief, the environment, health, the arts, and economic development.

How We Invest
When you give to the Placer Community Foundation, you become our partner in philanthropy to bring organizations and community members together, uniting donors who care with causes that matter. Our programs help nonprofits develop the skills and connections they need to succeed and prosper for the good of the whole community.

When you open a personalized, named fund at Placer Community Foundation you have options on how your charitable dollars are to be distributed into the community as well as how assets in the fund may, or may not, be invested. We offer a variety of investment options designed to meet your philanthropic goals and objectives.
TRADITIONAL LONG-TERM PORTFOLIO
The investment objective is long-term capital appreciation, actively managed and invested in a diversified portfolio. This option is recommended for funds that will last more than three years with the option of continuing the fund in your estate plan and has a fund balance suitable for investment.
ESG PORTFOLIO
We now offer an Environment Social and Governance or ESG portfolio that aligns values with charitable goals. Similar to the long-term portfolio, ESG is actively managed, invests in a diversified portfolio and is best suited for longer term funds that will carry on your legacy of giving.
MONEY MARKET
This investment option provides donors with liquidity and principal protection and is recommended for funds that are designed to last three years or less or the fund has a balance that is not suitable for investment.
