Great collaboration means open communication and a willingness to listen. Trust is the cornerstone - knowing you can pick up the phone and a colleague will answer… and feel safe to share ideas, challenge assumptions, and take risks. 

It’s about letting ideas bounce around without ego, knowing that the best solutions often come from a mix of minds. When collaboration is working right, you can feel it—there’s energy, momentum, and a shared sense of purpose.

At the end of the day, it’s not just about getting the job done; it’s about building something together that everyone’s proud of.

Placer is known statewide for its collaborative spirit, and while we celebrate that today, we also recognize someone who embodies collaboration at the highest level.  Their exceptional ability to bring people together, listen with empathy, and foster an atmosphere of openness has helped us innovate in ways we never thought possible. Their optimism has helped forge stronger connections and inspires each of us to be our better selves.
