Sac Bee: Placer County Isn’t Building Enough Affordable Housing. Why That’s Bad News For The Economy

The Sacramento Bee reported on the growing issue of affordable housing in Placer County. PCF CEO Veronica Blake contributed a few salient points on where we need to take action at both a community and policy level. She is quoted, saying “There is quite a bit that has to be done,” Blake said. That includes leadership efforts to encourage residents to realize that affordable workforce housing in their neighborhoods contributes to health for the economy, and for the next generation of Placer residents. We have to stop opposing affordable housing projects,” she said. “It needs to fit seamlessly in the community.”
