Every Story of Survival Begins with Someone Who Believed It Was Possible
Right now, in Placer County, a mother is deciding whether tonight is the night she finally leaves. A teenager is trying to find the words to tell someone what happened to them. A survivor of trafficking is taking her first free breath in years, wondering what comes next.
Stand Up Placer exists for these moments and for everything that comes after them.
More Than a Shelter. A Path Forward.
For over four decades, our community has refused to look away from domestic violence, sexual assault, and sex trafficking. Today, that commitment lives through dedicated staff members and dozens of volunteers who work around the clock, not just to keep survivors safe tonight, but to help them build lives of strength and self-sufficiency for every night after.

Our work meets survivors wherever they are in their journey:
-
Safety planning that turns fear into a concrete path forward
-
Gender-inclusive, pet-friendly emergency shelter because no one should have to choose between safety and the animal companion who's already gotten them through so much
-
Transitional housing that bridges the gap between crisis and stability
-
Emergency food, clothing, and transportation for the basic needs that can't wait
-
Legal assistance and advocacy to help survivors navigate systems that can feel impossible to face alone
-
Peer counseling and clinical therapy to heal what violence breaks
-
Accompaniment and advocacy during forensic exams and court proceedings, so survivors do not have to face some of their darkest moments alone
-
Educational workshops that build skills for independence
-
Age-appropriate children's services, because trauma touches whole families, not just individuals
Why the Endowment Matters
Crisis doesn't run on a predictable schedule, and healing doesn't happen on a grant cycle. The Stand Up Placer Endowment Fund exists to ensure that no matter what changes—funding climates, economic downturns, shifts in public policy—our doors stay open and our promise to survivors never wavers.
An endowment gift is different from any other donation. It's not spent once; it's invested to generate support in perpetuity, creating a permanent foundation beneath every program we offer. When you give to the endowment, you're not just funding tonight's shelter bed, you're guaranteeing there will be a shelter bed available for the survivor who needs one ten, twenty, fifty years from now.
You are building permanence into a system that, for too many survivors, has only ever offered uncertainty.
Everyone Deserves This Foundation
Stand Up Placer serves every survivor who walks through our doors regardless of age, culture, disability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, marital status, nationality, race, religion, sexual orientation, or socio-economic status. Our trauma-informed, culturally responsive approach means survivors are met not with judgment, but with the dignity they deserve and the belief that everyone has the right to a life free from violence.
Your Legacy, Their Future
When you invest in the Stand Up Placer Endowment Fund, you become part of something larger than a single gift. You become part of the infrastructure of hope in our community, a permanent partner in the work of ending the legacy of abuse in Placer County, one survivor, one family, one new beginning at a time.
The need for safety and healing will not expire. Your support for it shouldn't either.
Join us in building a future where every survivor in Placer County has somewhere to turn—today, and for generations to come.
