Keeping a volunteer role when you are away all winter
Since eleven years I volunteer at the public library in my town near Liège, two mornings a week, the reading hour for children and the sorting of donated books.
Last spring my husband and I decided to buy a small condo in Hua Hin. We are both retired now and the Belgian winter is long. For three months every Sunday evening we went through https://thailand-real.estate/ with a notebook, and in August we signed for a two bedroom ten minutes from the beach. From next year we will be there from November to March.
The library coordinator was very kind, but my children's hour cannot stop for five months, so I lose it. I understand. Still I would like to keep something.
This group is about local giving, so maybe you know: do foundations or libraries have roles for volunteers who are away part of the year? Something to do from far, or a role only for the summer months?
