Who should attend: Placer County nonprofit board members and executive staff.

Please register as an organization once. We require each organization to bring at least THREE representatives.

Meet our speaker

Christal M. Cherry, the Board Pro, is a nationally recognized nonprofit executive and professionally trained fundraiser.  With over 20 years in the nonprofit sector, she has supported higher education institutions, human services organizations and faith based missions.​ With passion and a wide breadth of experience, Christal works today with clients to help them mark a clear path to success in board development.  Her style is electrifying, inspiring, and energizing. Training overview

In 2025, nonprofit boards face new challenges that require fresh strategies for effective leadership. This training provides practical tools to transform boards into dynamic and forward-thinking partners. Attendees will explore strategies for recruiting diverse, mission-aligned members and crafting onboarding experiences that drive meaningful participation.


The session will explore increased board engagement through advocacy and ambassadorship, equipping members to champion their mission. Attendees will gain actionable insights on succession planning, equity-focused governance, and managing board dynamics.
